About the artist

Riin
I've been playing with fiber and with color for as long as I can remember. I spent my childhood doing needlepoint, embroidery, and crochet, and spiking the orange juice with green food coloring so my parents wouldn't want to drink it. Once I learned how to knit when I was 19, it was inevitable that I would start dyeing yarn.

In my mid-20's I took classes in spinning and dyeing, and the world has never been the same. The possibilities are limited only by the number of hours in the day. After years of having people ask me if I sold my yarn, I decided, "Hey, I could sell my yarn!" And so in 2006, Happy Fuzzy Yarn was born.

The more I dye, the more I think, "What if I did it this way?," and so I'm continually developing new methods. The creative process feeds upon itself. I hope others will use my yarn and fiber to feed their own creative process. I think creativity is an important part of the human spirit, and if people don't take time to be creative in one way or another, they lose themselves.

I currently live in Ann Arbor, Michigan with two rabbits and much, much wool.
